Garments Of Praise

Reaching out to Africa

Our Mission Statement

“To establish communities of hope in Africa through practical skills building.”

Challenged by Isaiah 61:1-3 (nkjv) it became our desire to provide HOPE by bringing Help to the helpless, giving the Oil of joy to those who mourn, Preaching the gospel to the poor, and Exchanging the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, with the ultimate goal that God may be glorified.

Garments of Praise was established to offer job skills training to the downtrodden in Kenya, Africa, after the tragic conditions of Ethiopian women in the slums of Nairobi were discovered.

It was on a short term missions trip in 2005 that God burdened the hearts of Will and Ilowee Owens to help the refugee women in the Eastleigh Fellowship Church. Since that time many have joined them in prayer, concern and giving to bring about theGarments of Praise Foundation which is providing job training for Ethiopian and Kenya women.
